Shivangi Saini is a textile artist and designer based in India experimenting with color through material and textures. With four years of experience working in the luxury segment of Rug and Kilim, Saini has been involved in crafting hundreds of custom carpet design solutions, closely monitoring production end-to-end, developing fresh, exciting textile patterns, and handling design-related communication in India on behalf of the company.
Her work taps into a broad range of aesthetics, from cheeky abstraction and traditional weaves, to new-age minamalism and contemporary boldness. In particular, her ability to explore subtleties in texture and colour with skillful playfulness is a specialisation she has cultivated with strategic insight and close engagement with textiles.
A multidisciplinarian, she loves to experiment with photography, film, and printmaking. At the moment, she works as a textile design consultant, but is available for collaboration, commissions or any interesting projects.
